I wrestled from the fourth grade, through college, and even an open after college. Played football in middle school and high school. Track in middle school and high school. Post college, primarily strongman and all round. A decent amount of powerlifting and highland games. Even one oly meet.

There was a meet down in Florida a number of years ago. Pretty sure it was before the nationals in Florida, there was a father/son duo who sanctioned a meet down there. Would have to look into it a little closer.

We are kind of in limbo right now. with the Todd kids being very involved in activities right now, our participation is rather contingent.
As far as the 2026 year, hopefully we can find a way to reach new lifters/territories without sacrificing the history/integrity of the organization with a growth at all cost mindset. Unfortunately, I am well past my best lifting years. But I hope to continue contributing to the organization however I can.I'm the lyrical Jesse James
I feel like we need to be very cognizant of how we align with our IAWA brethren. That is the only way we can remain an international org. It cannot be damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead regardless.

Fact of business, is I just lost track of the time. By the time I was reminded of the date, we already had plans

I did this one twice. will probably never do it again. Great challenge, shortened my lifting life expectancy by years…

I always thought something like that would be good for all-round. Would be good for exposure. Cost is clearly an issue. As far as who would support such a thing, I do not have the answer. When I was young and strong and did not have the same family responsibilities, I would have been all over a setup like this. At this point, such pomp and circumstance would have no interest to me as a competitor. Does not mean it would not be good for the org, though. I think things that would showcase us as an org would be those that highlight what makes us different. Bent press, a heavy lift, one arm lifts, hack lift, steinborn, etc. Just another bench press variation or deadlift variation would make us look like just like any old powerlifting org, thus uninteresting.

Sometimes there is a suggestion of change for the mere sake of change. I am in favor of growth, but it is absurd to think we can suddenly, after 40 years of existence, expect to have 1000 members. #1 I agree with entirely. We need to grow into new territories. That has started to happen, and will continue, I feel with the recent changes. #2 I think is a slight on the Promoters who have sanctioned national championships in the past. I have lifted in some pretty cool venues in the few nationals that I have competed in. #3-really? The logo? #4 is merely a segway into a crusade for knee sleeves. We could also say that we could benefit by adding sponsors by adding super suits or pharmaceuticals. #5 sure. Embrace change. But only as it makes sense by staying true to our roots. We could be huge if we went to a push/pull/squat format that embraces more equipment and steroids, but is that who we are?

Call me old school, but even though it is allowed, I really have no interest in lifting in other people’s meets remotely.

Beth did a great job getting right on that task. A job well done Beth!

Sorry, those last two were me. I was logged in as randy to help him with his account, and I guess I had not logged out…

I agree with your points Sanjiv. We want to grow the org, but it will be a challenge to manage with as many lifts as we have. There will have to be some reorganization. the shirt discussion is just silly. I would suggest that very few of our records would stand if we applied that definition. I have never lifted in a collar or button down. Nor have I ever excluded something without a collar or buttons when I speak of wearing a shirt. I think the supportive equipment issue is a slippery slope. I am not a huge proponent of new lifts. What purpose does it serve at this point? At any rate, good points and area for discussion
