Ok, here’s an idea….could you make different sizes of caps, either a set of 3 or so or interchangeable caps…..

Be patient Grasshopper for it is unwise to give away what my OTHER wrist roller exercise is until I’ve filmed it.

Wasn’t there a Larry Traub article in PLUSA years back?? Think it had a picture of Larry with his kids. Each person had a hand on a racked Olympic bar at shoulder level. Or have I been skating without a helmet again?

One of two new wrist roller exercises I’ve come up with. Let me know what you think. Link to You Tube videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpwPNzjrzOU

            Sounds like a good plan.

I think I get what your saying. Appreciate the props.I compete in Powerlifting,Strongman and Olympic Weightlifting and stink @ ALL 3!! I’m not very strong OR quick. What I AM good at is balance, coordination and flexibility. My parents are not athletes. My dad’s dad was good at log rolling competitions and could walk up flights of stairs on his hands alone. Maybe I’ve got a touch of that. I started swinging an axe @7 years old. My family knows how to work long and hard. My dad is 67 and I’m sure he can still outwork me.
My point is that the lifts that favor what I’m good at, will be the lifts I do best. Do I still try to get stronger and faster=you bet. I think with the lifts that require balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance I’ll excel.
I don’t mean this in a jerk/show-off kind of way. I want to put up such a good Turkish get-up that NO ONE will go after it. Put it out of sight so to speak. I want to open my mind and see what can happen.

Nope, I don’t mind at all. I need all the help I can get. Remember, this is my 5th time doing these so it’s still new. Check out how my right w/130 was literally 3 times faster than my left. 14 second vs 46 seconds. I feel I need to swing my feet under myself sooner and get those feet planted flat. Basically try to get as much of myself under that weight as soon as possible!!

Thanks Jarrod but, I outweigh you by 30lbs so I SHOULD be hitting 130. I’m learning just how quick you’ve got to move to make the lift!!

Yeah JARROD, my punning IS terminal! Maybe I could get sued for PUNitive damages!!
By the way, nice article. Is that what is meant by health club??
Is that what they mean about going “clubbing”. You youngsters are so silly.
So did Karena INSIST painting the clubbells to match her top??

Now I’M confused Ben. If your hands have to stay where you start ’em for the entire lift, then a wider/Snatch grip will give you the least possible distance to push the bar to lockout. Now if you’re like me who has an abysmal lockout, then yes a Snatch grip is going to be rough. I’m realizing how much more Tricep strength I need. I feel the Snatch grip technique will be something I grow into as my Triceps catch up. Just because I can do more with a narrower grip NOW doesn’t mean that’s the best way to go.
I try to find the shortest way to lift stuff then catch up the weak links to match that technique. I hope this makes sense.

I agree. I actually ‘overshot’ the bar using a Snatch grip. When I push/press, I think of pulling the bar apart vs. just pushing straight up. Seems to help.

Yeah, well I’m kinda stubborn at times. If I get in my head that it’s going down…. it’s going down!! Nothing like a bad marriage to give you that attitude!!

Switched to a Snatch grip on these tonight. Worked on Log push Press off the rack, next did Floor Log Presses 16″ off floor pushing on the OUTSIDE of the log. Sluggish on those. Finished with Pullover and Push. 2nd time doing them. Hit a 25lb PR!! Was afraid how shoulders would feel. So far so good. Tomorrow will tell. Seriously, people get 400+ on this=WOW
