Great Job as always, Al.
They will probably be World records as there are usually 3 officials for the lifts at Art’s Birthday Bash.
Our USAWA records are our national records and need only one certified official to set. The best lifts done at our National Championships are National meet records. IAWA world records require at least 2 certified official to approve the lift.
I talked to Clint today and he told me he only had himself, a friend of his, and me entered in his meet.
I met Joe many years ago at the National Masters. I always bought a video from him when he was filming those meets. He did a nice job at that. Since I have been President of the USAWA, Joe has been calling me every couple of months to tell me how he was doing and let me know about what he was planning in the near future. I just talked to him about 5 or 6 weeks ago and he told me he was doing fine and was planning to hold this big deadlift meet. It was a shock to here of his passing.
Art Montini and I will be there.
Thom- Thanks for a great time! I had never seen a Highland Games competition before and it was fun to watch. THE FOOD WAS GREAT and it was fun to watch the interaction of the Highland games athletes. There were also some great lifts made in the OTSM meet. It was a great day all around.
Happy Birthday Thom! Art and I will be on our way to Missouri tomorrow.
Sorry Eric, I misunderstood your question. I think it will probably depend on the number of entries, although we usually run two sessions so we have officials, because our officials are also lifting.
It is going to be a one day meet, with the banquet immediately after the meet.
Happy Birthday LaVerne! I am sorry to see you are now in my age group. The 70+ AGE GROUP JUST GOT A LOT TOUGHER!
I am really sorry I can’t make it. I know it is going to be a great weekend.
I am planning to be there and Art will be coming with me. James Fuller now says he is coming down from Maine to come along with Art and me.
I will take them e-mail or snail mail. Thanks to all that did them. Please be a little patient with me right now. I am having some pain issues with my neck and Judy doesn’t want me sitting at the computer right now. [She had to run an errand, so as they say,” when the cats away”].
Great job, Laverne!
