  It was voted in sometime in the 90’s I believe. I’m sure Al will correct me, but it was voted in on the squats

  Knee wraps are allowed in the USAWA for the 12″ base squat and the front squat. This was passed in the mid 90’s. IAWA also allows knee wraps for the regular squat (not a USAWA lift). The reason you can’t find IAWA World records for the 12″ base squat is because it is not an official IAWA lift. It is an USAWA official lifts and there are USAWA records for it. Al
