I am excited that USAWA has a presence at Homegymcon.  I was not aware of Homegymcon until sometime during the past year.  And several lifters that I’ve mentioned it to have not been aware of it.  This will be its third year.  And it’s a big deal!  Lots of manufacturers, retailers,  and lifters/exercisers of all kinds. Being a part of it will give us some good attention and visibility.
If I manage to make it down there my only concern is that I’m old enough that I should be getting rid of things that I’ve accumulated in my garage gym rather than adding to it.  And there will be so much tempting good stuff there…….
But the big draw is that it will be  an opportunity to visit with a bunch of like minded physically active people in a big way in addition to doing a competition and a record day. There are other interesting competitions going on that are listed and have links on their website.
I encourage everybody to check it out at Homegymcon.com.

If you do make it down, you should definitely compete in the grip competition in addition to the push/pull. I was surprised at how many of the other events had some pretty decent prize pools (between $1000 and $5000).

I would love to get out to Louisville for this event sooner rather than later. I am not particularly concerned with the big brands (Rep, Rogue, Titan), but love the smaller players like Belt Fed Strength, Arm Assassin Strength Shop, Darko Lifting, Bearfoot Shoes, Mutant Metals, etc.

However, like you I should probably be getting rid of things.

A couple of points to consider about the HomeGymCon Push/Pull

            1. The HomeGymCon promoter wanted us to be front and center of the expo for the event, but in 2025 I can only commit to Saturday. Next year he is interested in the USAWA being in the premier position in the middle of the expo.
            2. The HomeGymCon promoter apologized that he didn’t have any prize money left to give away, due to our meet being a late addition. He said he wants to include prize money next year and is almost certain the expo will be back in Louisville in 2026.
            3. We need to blow all the other sports away at the expo, which will help attract more sponsors and potential USAWA members. I expect we will be the loudest and flashiest event there. If we do well at the 2025 HomeGymCon Expo it will open doors to bring in more specialty lifts like the Steinborn Squat, 1 Arm Barbell Bent Press (Have a lifter committed for 2026) and many others. We have to use attractive lifts to get involved and then grow from there.
            4. THE USAWA MUST SUPPORT THIS EVENT! Right now we have 4 lifters signed up to compete, talking won’t change anything, actions will. We have a promoter and a venue to increase the USAWA presence, but we have to have lifters! Please don’t wait to enter, enter now and get ready. These lifts won’t affect training for Nationals, they are complementary to the lifts at Nationals.
