dealing with a knee injury that prevents doing a Push Press or Jerk. Seeing that towards the end, some Weightlifters were getting Clean & Presses at around 90% of their Clean & Jerk, the Olympic Press seems like a viable alternative when lots of knee bending is out of the question.
I would think that Strongman would definitely benefit from this technique. I have had athletes use it to teach better ‘moving yourself around the bar’ mechanics.
Mark Rippetoe has a great 3 part series with Tommy Suggs(Bill Starr’s training partner) teaching the Olympic Press….it is full of great information!!
