Our Mission
The USAWA was formed to continue the long standing tradition of old-time weightlifters like Sandow, Gorner, Grimek, and others. Strongmen and strongwomen from all persuasions, (weightlifting, powerlifting, strongman competitions, etc) come together in the joy of lifting iron in it's purest form. Everything from overhead to harness/chain lifts.
About Us
Organized in 1987, the USAWA is the National Charter member of the IAWA (International All-Round Weightlifting Association). With members across the country, over 150 recognized lifts and 7000 plus records, any strength athlete can find his/her niche. Numerous local meets and a National competition are held each year to find truly "all-round" strongmen.
Membership
Membership for the both the USAWA and the IAWA is $25. Bill Clark sends out a newsletter, with various ramblings and information about events and other strength related musings. You can print out an application from this link Membership Application. All members are now required to sign a Drug Testing Consent and Waiver form. Testing will be done at meets and out-of-competition.

A rulebook is available for all the lifts at $18 (includes shipping). Write to Bill Clark for these. A complete listing of the records is also available for $18 (includes shipping). Either write or e-mail me. All checks should be made out to the USAWA.
