Because of the terrible events of September 11, the 3rd annual Super Grip
Challenge was held Sunday September 16, at Kevin Fulton's barn instead of Kearney
Nebraska as planned.  A number of new lifters were present, and the #3 COC was closed
by two people, Kevin Fulton and Jason Keen.  Bob Burtsloff made
his way back to the USAWA after a 13 year absence.

     The format went back to one weight division, with age and bodyweight corrections.
Also this year, the event went to points placing, similar to the World Strong Man
competitions, with 1st place getting 1 point, 2nd place getting 2 points, etc.  with the
lowest score as the winner.  This year, Matt Graham and Kevin Fulton tied
on total points, with Matt winning the competition based upon more 1st place wins.

     For the first time, there were women competitors, with Mary McConnaughey of 
national armwrestling fame going head to head with Tressa Broomer-Lakowsky.  
Tressa was the winner of the women's division.

     The weights for the burlap bag hold was 130 lbs eash hand for the men, 
and 100 lbs for the women.  In the farmer's walk, the men used 200 lb tractor
wheel weights in each hand, and the women used 55 lbs PDA farmers bars with
2 3/8" diameter handles.
